Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Field Operations Manager to oversee a team of Domestic and Commercial Gas Engineers, delivering exceptional service across Housing Association properties and Communal Heat Network systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with safety standards, and excellence in customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Gas Engineers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Operational Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimise field operations, including resource allocation and route planning, to improve productivity and minimise downtime.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all gas services comply with industry regulations, including Gas Safe standards, and promote a strong culture of health and safety within the team.
Performance Monitoring: Oversee team performance metrics, set KPIs, and conduct regular appraisals to drive continuous improvement.
Customer Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for Housing Associations and other stakeholders, ensuring all service requirements are met with professionalism.
Budget Management: Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services without compromising quality or safety.
Problem-Solving: Respond swiftly to escalated issues, troubleshooting operational challenges and implementing effective resolutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in managing field-based teams, preferably within Domestic and Commercial Gas services.
In-depth knowledge of gas systems and industry regulations, including Gas Safe requirements.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage teams.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
Solid understanding of Housing Association operations and Communal Heat Network systems is desirable.
Familiarity with budgeting and resource allocation.
Valid UK driver’s licence is essential.
Qualifications:
Gas Safe registration for domestic and commercial
NVQ or diploma in Gas Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
