ASHP Heating Engineer

Job Title:        Heat Pump (ASHP) Engineer
Salary:            £36,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
Holiday:          23 days + Bank Holidays
Other:             Van, Fuel Card, Tools, PDA, Uniform, PPE, Rewards Scheme, Training.
Hours:            Monday to Friday/ 8am to 5pm. No weekends. No callouts.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heating Engineer, ideally with Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) experience to join a leading renewables client on their growth plan and within their Installation team for domestic and commercial installs. As a Heat Pump Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation of air source heat pump systems for residential and commercial customers. Within this position you work with a close team covering Surrey and the surrounding areas with travel being usually no more than 1 hour from your home location. Installs will be private domestic and small commercial such as schools, churches etc.

Responsibilities:

Installation:
  • As a Heat Pump Engineer, you will be responsible for installing air source heat pump systems for residential and commercial customers. This will include the Heat Pump or cascade of heat pumps, Unvented Cylinder, Radiator, pipe work and associated mechanical systems.

Fault Finding and Diagnostics:
  • Conduct thorough fault finding and diagnostics to identify the root cause of system failures or performance issues. Utilise your technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to rectify problems and restore proper operation.

Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including details of equipment used and work completed. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, health and safety guidelines, and industry standards.

Customer Support:
  • Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with clients, addressing their queries and concerns, and offering professional advice on energy-efficient heating solutions. Guide customers on the proper usage and maintenance of ASHP systems.

Continuous Learning:
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to ASHP systems and renewable energy technologies. Actively participate in training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Requirements:
 
  • Proven experience as Heating Engineer with ASHP and experience.
  • Ideally having technical knowledge of heating systems/ air source/ ground source heat pump systems including, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and health and safety guidelines pertaining to heating systems and Air Source Heat Pumps.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to different sites local to you, as required.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in renewable energy and related fields would be advantageous such as BPEC in ASHP, F-Gas etc
  • City and Guilds/ NVQ in Plumbing.
  • Unvented cylinders
  • ACS Gas Tickets would be an advantage.
  • 18th Edition or Part P would be beneficial
